Memories of Ellie

In Lieu of Flowers

In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donations to University of Arizona Athletics, so that we can engrave Ellie's name on a Legacy Lane tile outside of McKale Center. If at least $600 is donated, we will be able to engrave a full 2' x 2' tile, with a customized message and the "A" logo.

Here is an overview picture of Legacy Lane

Click here to check out the official Arizona Wildcat page.

The money raised will benefit the UA Athletics Scholarship Fund which assists more than 475 student athletes, something we all know Grandma loved!

Donations are 100% tax deductible.
Donations of $100 or more will qualify you for the Wildcat Club.

Donate with a check:

Write "In memory of Ellie Avila" in the memo line (**very important so the UA knows to put it toward her Legacy Lane fund**)

Make check out to: The University of Arizona

Mail check to:
   University of Arizona
   Attn: Courtney Anthony
   1 National Championship Dr
   Office 246
   Tucson, AZ 85721

Donation with a credit card:

To pay by credit card, it is best to call Courtney Anthony at 520-626-0921. Tell her you are making a donation in memory of Ellie Avila (**Again, important so they know to put the donation toward her fund). She will get the info, process it, and mail you a receipt. She said it is difficult to make them online in memory of someone, so it is easiest to call her directly.

If you have any other questions, you can email Anthony at

We appreciate all the help to honor Ellie/Yaya/Grandma and the life she lived. Thank you!
